Mountain Dew and Social Media

Mountain Dew

Originally invented by Barney and Ally Hartman in 1940 in the backwoods of Tennessee, Dewshine, consisting of real sugar, was actually a name for illegal whiskey, and with the citrus we know today, made it a great mixer! However, Bill Bridgforth reformulated the product in 1958, and is what we drink to this day. Mountain Dew has revived the original Dewshine, with the original recipe.

Mountain Dew is now one of the top 10 soda pop brands in the world, and their presence on social media proves it!
Mountain Dew allows their customers to not only interact with them on their website but also through Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram and Google+. Posting various photos and videos, as well shows their strong connection with sports and the NBA.

Facebook is 1 of the 3 social media platforms that is used the most by Mountain Dew. They post every few days, with updates on new products, their products being 'casually' used, and their connection with the NBA. And though they don't post every day, they do however always have time to respond to their followers, and even giving out gifts to a few lucky ones.

Mountain also likes to post on Twitter, but unlike on Facebook, they post every day and multiple times! Most of the posts, however, consist of short videos, GIFs, and photos, mostly with their connection with the NBA.

The least used of the 3 for Mountain Dew is Instagram. Mountain Dew posts photo and short clips a few times a week, though not recently! Most of the photo consists of their product being used in the daily life of people and in sports, with likes on each photo averaging to at least 2.9k!

In Conclusion:

Mountain Dew knows how to keep their followers through social media! I think it's because Mountain Dew is very down-to-earth and tries to relate to their consumers which is a great marketing strategy! Especially since Mountain Dew tries to actually interact with their followers as well! With their strong brand and great reputation, there is no surprise why Mountain Dew is one of the top soda pop brands!
