Campaign Quencher: Pepsi VS Sprite

Another episode is about to start again here at Poparrazzii! Campaign Quencher is the cool idea of us creating a campaign for our specific brands. Now that I studied Pepsi and Sprite, I can hopefully create a campaign that would be fitting to my brands. So, let's get started!

Pepsi Sprite
Idea
Pepsi is an all-year round drink and a very popular choice of drinks all ages. We will be doing a direct approach with the consumers. Our idea is to have a team all across Canada to have a pop-up shop in highly concentrated areas. Toronto Yonge-Dundas Square, Vancouver Gastown, Mississauga Celebration Square, you name it! There will be tons of pop-up shop and we will take advantage of the hype. There would be a live DJ, free one Pepsi can, and a one of a kind Pepsi Bar! We will serve from all-ages drinks to alcoholic beverages. Sprite can almost be a synonym to summer. That's why, our campaign that we'll be creating is the 'Summer Sprite-capade'! This campaign will be contest based. There will be 10 lucky winners who will choose which Sprite-capade they would like to go to. The 10 winners are welcome to bring another guest with them! The Sprite-capade Destinations will be: Cuba, Greek Islands, and Thailand! All they have to do is buy a bottle of Sprite and inside the cap, there will be a serial code which needs to be entered online to secure the code.
Audience
The audience are all ages. The audience are for ages 18 and up.
Goals
Our goals is to have Pepsi trend for weeks and weeks until the pop-up shop is done. We also expect a great 15% increase in sales after the shops are done. The goal is to have our sales increase to 25% in a span of 4 months. We also hope that the traffic in our social media would increase by 50,000 at least.
Launch
The launch would start major areas like Vancouver, Toronto, etc. We will start at July 1 as it is Canada Day and we will take advantage of the whole day. Minor and less concentrated areas will come the next day after. The contest will start in November 1 and end in January 28. The draw and announcement of winners will be on January 29.
Strategy
Just like other pop-up shops, we will offer consumers with an extra-ordinary and one-of-a-kind experience with Pepsi. We will trend #PopUpPepsi and have everyone post and share it on social media. There will be 500,000 bottles with serial codes that will be distributed all across Canada. The winners will be determined through random draws that was entered online.
Engage
To engage with consumers, we need the power of social media and its ability to trend. We want our shops to trend every single time we are open and wherever we are at. Billboards and TV advertising are also a must. In order for us to attract and engage a lot of consumers, we will use social media, traditional media, digital media, radio, and direct mail to spread out the word.

Social Media: Sprite

Obey Your Thirst
Sprite is one of the leading lemon-lime soft drinks at the moment. It is always compared with Mountain Dew and 7UP. On Sprite's official website, their main networks are: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Tumblr. Although they even have other networks like YouTube, Google+. Since Sprite is the youngest out of the lemon-lime giants, will it prove that it is the best through their social media? Let's take a look!

Sprite's Facebook has a ridiculous number of following! To this date, they have a total of 20,846,352 likes! Sadly, their Facebook seems to be abandoned. Their last post was in 2014 and it was a cover photo update! Come on, Sprite! You can do better than that!
Sprite's Twitter seems to have a dramatic gap between its following! While Facebook has 20 million likes, their Twitter only has 261k followers! Even though Sprite posts a lot better in Twitter than Facebook, that huge difference is very strange!

Sprite's last post, Feb 14

Sprite's Instagram just goes downhill. They have at least 157k followers but their last post was 9 weeks ago which was around Christmas time! Their Instagram posts was very creative and it imitates how a regular person would post! Too bad they don't really keep it going.

Sprite's Tumblr seems to be the most established social media. The number of followers is unknown however the content is great! It features people who like Sprite, promotions, quirky photos, and videos! It even features 'The Sprite Corner' which is a bodega-style pop-up shop. Sprite's Tumblr is just so cool! Maybe apply it to the other networks?

The Sprite Corner
To conclude, Sprite has been focusing on two things: Tumblr and their official website. However, Tumblr isn't really a great focus as not a lot of people use Tumblr as oppose to Facebook, where most people have it. I hope you all learn from this post! Also check out our other posts about pop's social media networks! Thanks for reading!

Social Media: Pepsi

Refresh Your World, Pepsi
Pepsi is currently the main rival and competitor of Coca Cola. Due to its great popularity, it has different social media accounts all across the globe. Pepsi's website mainly features Facebook and Twitter however they also have official accounts on YouTube, Instagram, Tumblr, and Google+. Let's look through their social media networks then, shall we?

s
Pepsi's Facebook has a whopping 34,860,032 likes! As of their content, they update their page few times a month. It depends whether they have an announcement, promoting something, or simply just wants to update their viewers.

Pepsi's latest Facebook post

s
Pepsi's Twitter has a huge following of 2.97 million! Guess they are not the rival of Coca-Cola for nothing. Through Twitter, Pepsi posts more often that Facebook. They retweet if there is anything Pepsi related and they post really funny and quirky stuff!

Pepsi's Instagram has an average number of following: 410,000. Their Instagram is very well established as they post equal amount of times as they do on Twitter. Check out Pepsi's Instagram, because all their posts are very creative! Whoever is behind their Instagram is a total genius!

Valentine's Day post!
Pepsi's YouTube is also not their greatest platform. They have 767,144 following on YouTube. However, their YouTube has a great content! Pepsi uploads their commercials, behind the scenes, and even mini-stories! They upload once or twice a week and their views are ranging from 30k views to 2m views! Go check it out. They are hilarious!

It seems that Pepsi is the strongest competitor of Coca-Cola but that doesn't mean they are strong all throughout their social media networks. After all, concentrating on two is great! Overall, Pepsi maintains their main social media and they post great content and they post often. Thanks for reading! Check out my Social Media: Sprite as well if you haven't!

Poparrazzii Brands: Pepsi & Sprite

Imagine yourself in a hot summer day and all you want is something refreshing to battle the heat. What would be the best way to do this?

Are you thinking of what I'm thinking?

I think the best way to do this is through drinking ice-cold soft drinks! It's true that soft drinks would help us quench the thirst especially on a hot summer day however, how do we know which soft drinks to indulge on? Let's find out!

Pepsi started all the way from 1893 and its first name was "Brad's Drink." In 1898, it was renamed as Pepsi-Cola. Pepsi has been around for such a long time that it is one of the most popular and most successful competitors in the soft drink beverage industry and as well as the cola-type beverages. Its taglines and catchphrases consists of: "Every Generation Refreshes the World," "Summer Time is Pepsi Time," "The Best Drink Created Worldwide."
Pepsi features great selection of their products on their website.
Pepsi is a very refreshing drink with a distinct taste that has the perfect balance of sweetness and acidity. Everything about Pepsi makes it a great summer drink, or maybe an all-year-round drink rather!

What else besides Pepsi that can be a great summer drink or also an all-year-round drink? Let's take a look!

Sprite was created by Coca Cola back in 1959 in West Germany. It was made to compete with the similar product under PepsiCo, 7Up. Sprite, unlike Pepsi, belongs to the caffeine-free, clear, and lemon-lime type of beverage. Its tagline is "Obey Your Thirst" where it has been around for so long.
Sprite's homepage consists of an introductory video and the tagline "Obey Your Thirst."
Sprite has a bitterly, sweet, and citric side that has a great amount of fizz in it. What also makes Sprite great is the fact that it has lesser carbonated content than other lemon-lime type beverage. It makes it really easy to gulp in large amount! That makes it a great summer drink then!

In conclusion, Pepsi and Sprite are two different types of soft drinks, however both are very delicious and refreshing. I say that we shouldn't really compare these two as they are very different but let's just declare this as a tie! One would definitely enjoy both these drinks and it would certainly help them quench their thirst!

Until then! See you next time. Thanks for reading!
